Creative Commons

The internet has given the population vast information at our finger tips. We have an obligation to ensure that we do not infringe on the rights to this information. This may be accomplished in several ways. The most common way to ensure that we give credit to others ideas is by sourcing our work. An additional way to guarantee that we are legally sharing other's creative works is by using the source Creative Commons (CC).

We often come across images that we want to share but do not have the right to do so. For example, an image may legally belong to the creator and have a copyright. Creative Commons is an online search engine that displays a range of works which are available to share legally.

Important note: Creative Commons does not replace sourcing work. Creative Commons allows for us to obtain information that we may otherwise have to pay for. You must still remember to source work that is not your own.
